A Simple Exercise To Make You Gain Distance In Golf

Hello Golfer,

I want to show you a simple exercise that will help you gain distance with your golf game;

The further the club travels, the more clubhead speed is created. However amatuer attack the ball powerfully such that they often lose distance due to lack of width. You can use this drill to check whether a lack of width is costing you valuable distance:

Take a bungee rope or similar rope or item in your left hand and hold it against your chest. Then adopt your normal address position and with your right hand, hold the grip of the club and the other end of the rope to make it taut.

Then make a normal swing holding your position at the top. If the rope is now loose, then your back swing is too narrow. Work on keeping the rope tight to get the extra width which will help you gain distance in your game. Do this regularly until you are perfect. Remember distance and accuracy are the 2 key elements of better golfing.

P.S. - Get a good golf instructor and read good golf books. You can't teach yourself golf. Read and practice what you have read under your tutor.Knowledge is power
